Who am I?
Sophie Bennett, Marketing Assistant at Churchers Solicitors.
What do I do?
My job involves helping create content for social media and the Churchers website, helping support events that Churchers attends and creating promotional material for the company, such as flyers, brochures and other promotional products.
What am I studying?
I'm currently a student at the University of Southampton – I’ve just finished my 2nd year studying BSc Marketing.
Why did I decide to join Churchers?
I like how Churchers aims to provide to their local community, whether that be as a legal service, or through taking part in charity events and fundraising for numerous local charities. I also love how friendly everyone is – I’ve only recently joined the Churchers team, and already feel part of the family!
What have I learned so far?
I’ve learnt how to take what I’ve learnt at university and apply it to a real-life business, understanding that the decisions I make will impact the company. I’ve also learnt the design processes of making online and offline content.
What do I hope to learn/experience from Churchers?
I hope to gain some supportive industry experience in marketing, and gain additional transferrable skills I can bring forward to my final year of university and graduating job roles.
What do I hope to bring to the team?
I hope to bring some new creative ideas to the Churchers brand, and contribute to the friendly atmosphere in the workplace.
What are my hobbies?
I play Basketball for the University of Southampton (SUBC), and train on a regular basis, whilst also enjoy going to the gym and socialising with friends. I also take part in charity events, having just completed Race For Life for Cancer Research UK. In the past, I’ve also helped the University of Southampton Raising and Giving (RAG) society with an event called Jailbreak, raising money for charities across the UK.
Back in August, Managing Partner Ian Robinson and trainees, Dan Norris, Georgia Chandler and Jonathan Rees , abseiled the Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower, raising money for the two charities, Rowans Hospice and Beaulieu Respite.More Info
