Local Gosport girl, Rachael Tluszcz, joined Churchers in 2014 as a secretary for the conveyancing department in Fareham. Along with drafting legal documents and dealing with property queries day-to-day, Rachael decided to embark on a career in Law by starting a Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) qualification - an on-the-job programme with distance learning to become a specialised legal advisor.
After initially finding the demands of the course difficult and taking a break from the time-intensive process, Rachael was motivated to continue with her qualification after starting a new role as a conveyancing completions clerk in Fareham. Rachael soon proved her dedication and ability by approaching each of the seven CILEx exam units with commitment and focus.
In 2017, Rachael was offered a trainee conveyancer role in Churchers’ Cosham office. Supported by Beverley Woodhouse, senior conveyancing executive, Rachael rapidly gained confidence, knowledge and flew through her CILEx course. Rachael said ‘Beverley taught me how to help clients effectively as well as the practical side of conveyancing. I started to get my own files - Beverley’s door was always open and she always had time for me in her busy day.’
In August 2019, Rachael got the opportunity to work alongside solicitor Emma Wells in the Gosport office. Rachael said ‘I was delighted to accept this role as it was a step up and a chance to work in my local community as I live in Priddys Hard, Gosport.’ With the tenth and final exam in January, Rachael will have completed her goal.
Rachael said ‘I hope to keep moving forward with Churchers in my career. I am so grateful to the Partners for their belief in me and the incredible support I’ve got from everyone at Churchers. It goes to show, you can do anything if you put your mind to it and have the support behind you’.
Everyone at Churchers wishes Rachael every success and the best of luck with her final exam in January.
